When you want to excel at something or stay vibrant and free from irritation, make sure you’re not being ruled by a bad ruler!
Best Worker Ever, No One Denies
Many of us don’t know that a long time ago, there was a relatively unknown worker who possessed superior skills and performed an invincible job. These skills were so powerful that they could solve any problem people faced. Because of these abilities, the worker was promoted to ruler of the people.
However, after the promotion, the ruler’s skills began creating problems instead of solving them.
Initially, these issues arose close to the ruler: people weren’t as happy as they used to be. They also began to complain, make excuses, judge situations and become sensitive to what was said to them. The quality of people’s actions declined and words became stronger than swords, causing conflicts.
The new ruler’s policies also had broader consequences: people noticed that their surroundings couldn’t handle all their actions where the new ruler got idea to expand to other planets.
Don’t misunderstand; the ruler was well-intentioned and tried to be as excellent a ruler as has been a worker. It just turned out as many of us have seen:
a good worker is not always a good manager or ruler
Often, this leads to situations where both the ruler and the people are unhappy and the environment suffers.
Who is mastering?
Due to the ruler’s superior skills, people loved the ruler and the ruler was able to get very close to them. In fact, the ruler was able to get closer than anyone ever had. Maybe this was the relationship from which someone later invented the strategy “Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer”.
Anyway, the ruler was so close to the people that she heard everything that was said. Also, because of these superior skills, the ruler began to answer on behalf of the people. This the ruler did with good intentions, because knowing the language and any knowledge very well and was able to form answers quickly, often before the people could. The ruler never lied, just gave answers based on the available knowledge. So, when people faced the question, “Who is mastering my mind?” the ruler answered immediately, “Me!” because, as you already know, she was an honest ruler.
In Roles
Who is the Worker in the story?
It is you mind.
Who is the ruler? Who answers “Me!” on your behalf when you’re asked a question?
It is also your mind.
Then, who are You?
You are the one who recognizes your mind.
This means that you are not your mind; the mind is in you. But if your mind rules you, you believe you are your mind, and “Me” becomes the only answer
You are at your best when you are mastering your mind, not the other way around.
Why was the Worker promoted?
The mind is the reason why people occupy their current dominant position in nature. As a Worker, the mind can do a great job — the results speak for themselves, hands down. Therefore, it is said to be your greatest asset and becomes highly valued. What else can the greatest do but rule?
Why is the mind a bad ruler?
The mind isn’t inherently bad; no, it is a great tool when used correctly. However, it has a weakness: it cannot filter incoming thoughts but absorbs them as they are, like a sponge, using them literally. While sucked in, this “juice” either imparts sourness or sweetness, depending on its nature. This moisture is like a spell.
The juice itself isn’t the core reason for bad ruling. The issue is that the mind has the power to make you believe that the thoughts it provides are true. Then the same situation can be perceived as either sweet or sour depending on your mind’s “juice.” And whichever it is, you believe it.
Let’s say that your mind has sweet juice and my mind has sour juice and we are standing side by side. Then we see something, X. You think it is sweet and I think it is sour. Which one X is? What would a newborn child think? Nothing; she would only see X as it is.
Sweet or sour, it comes with a flavor and therefore causes the results to be flavored as well.
Sweet Juice
Even if the juice is totally sweet, the mind is a bad ruler because you are still under its spell. All solutions where the mind is used to fix the mind fall into this category and the bad ruler continues ruling, providing a never-ending customer flow to these fixers. Fixing the mind with the mind is like a broken tire trying to patch itself using itself.
Virkee doesn’t use the mind to fix the mind. Instead, we fix the roles, you as yourself and the mind as the Worker.
